Early Childhood Education Training Information

We’re Excited to Welcome You to the Montessori Institute for Teacher Education!
Thank you for your interest in our
MACTE-accredited Montessori teacher training program! We will be updating this page regularly to reflect exciting new developments in our program.
Our Montessori Teacher Training Program for children ages 2½ to 6 years offers a comprehensive and transformative journey into Montessori education. Offered through the Montessori Institute for Teacher Education (MITE)—a respected training center with over 60 years of experience—this course is delivered in a hybrid format, combining the flexibility of online learning with meaningful in-person sessions held at one of our training locations.
Participants will gain a deep understanding of Montessori philosophy, hands-on experience with specialized materials, and practical tools to create nurturing, child-centered environments that support independence, confidence, and a lifelong love of learning.
"The training of the teacher who is to help life is far more than the learning of ideas. It includes the training of character; it is a preparation of the spirit."
- Maria Montessori
About the Course
Our program consists of 805 course hours and can be completed in 1 to 2 years. It is an excellent fit for working adults offering weekly live classes held in the evenings or on the weekends, and all content is recorded for later viewing, allowing learners to engage with the material on a schedule that works for them. Our course covers Montessori theory and lessons in the Montessori materials of Practical Life, Sensorial, Language, Mathematics, and Culture and Science. As a part of the course, adult learners will complete a practicum in order to give them firsthand experience in a Montessori classroom. The program concludes with a 125-hour in-person component held at one of our designated training centers.
If you're wondering whether MITE is the right path for you, we invite you to schedule a consultation. Email us at training@springvalley.org, and our student coordinator will be happy to set up an online meeting to walk you through the program, answer your questions, and help you decide if our training is the right fit for your goals.
We look forward to supporting you on your path to becoming a Montessori educator!
