Spring Valley Track Team Shows Improvement

This past weekend, at the Federal Way School District qualifying meet, Spring Valley track and field athletes earned 10 qualifying spots for the Federal Way Championship Meet, to be held in Federal Way Memorial Stadium at 9am on May 6th. Spring Valley Athletes also earned 9 Track City qualifications, to be held in Eugene, Oregon July 21-23, and narrowly missed two more.

The qualifying section on April 29th was one of the most competitive that I've seen for local schools. According to the Meet Director, one school Twin Lakes Elementary sent over 100 kids to the track meet. The number of kids increased substantially, as evidenced by 40-45 athletes participating in the 3rd grade boys 800M run--a race that would normally draw 10-15 athletes.
