Covers ages: 2˝ - 6
Tuesday, September 8, 2009 through June 2010
Tuesdays 2:30pm - 9:00pm

 

Montessori Program II - Elementary Teacher Education (offered every other year)
Covers ages: 6-12
Offered September 2010 through June 2011
Saturdays 8:30am - 5:00pm

ACCREDITATION:

The Spring Valley Montessori Teacher Education Program is:

• Accredited by MACTE (Montessori Accreditation Council for Teacher Education Commission)

• Licensed by the State of Washington, Washington Workforce Training and Education Coordinating Board

Spring Valley Montessori School is:

• Approved by the Washington State Superintendent of Public Instruction as an in-service agency

• Member of IAME (International Association of Montessori Education)

• Member of PNMA (Pacific Northwest Montessori Association)

INSTRUCTORS:

Madeleine J. Justus, Gulsevin Kayihan, Crystal Jones, Laura Possinger, and Sylvie Giral along with other qualified Montessori teachers, all having many years of experience. Madeleine J. Justus has been training Montessori teachers for 57 years; currently she is an advisor.

ADMISSION:

Interested student teachers may observe in the children’s classrooms, the teacher education lecture room and the teacher education classroom (by appointment) then discuss their observations with the administration. If qualified, student teachers are admitted to the program after consultation with the director and in order of applications received.

LOCATION:

Classes are held at Spring Valley Montessori School, located about 30 miles south of  Seattle and 8 miles north of Tacoma on Pacific Highway South. The school is easily accessible via Highway 99, I-5, and Highway 18.  Directions / Map
